This is Halloween This is Halloween!

Oh Halloween! One of my favorite holidays. Not because I believe in celebrating/worshiping/ the dead, but because of the candy, the creepy, and the costumes! I just love decorating all spooky and picking out the kids costumes with them. I know how Halloween came to be, and what it supposedly stands for. But I just don't think of it that way. I don't think most people do. I don't tell my kids anything. It's just one night a year when we can dress up and be scared and have fun getting some candy, and showing off our costumes. I don't let the fact that I am a Christian hold me back from having fun with it. I also don't see a difference in dressing up to trick or treat, or going to a church celebration. Even if it's a "Fall Festival" it's still the same thing. You are still putting on a costume and celebrating. I think it should be that we celebrate free candy and nothing more haha!

Anyway, around here we still decorate the house. Graveyard and all! It's just fun to me to be scared and to be scary! That's why we have haunted houses. The kids LOVE helping us drag out the decorations and watch us put them together. Many of ours came from my mom when she passed away. We have added a couple of new things over the years though. Olivia's favorite are the dancing skeleton and witch. The skeleton sings "Super freak" haha! And the witch sings "I want candy" lol. She pushes them and dances around. So cute. Saturday we put everything up and were excited how well it turned out. I just wish someone was here on Halloween to pass out candy!
