Anywho, a lot has happened since last week. On Sunday Blaine and I were cleaning up the garage from the party when a couple came up our drive. They were from the First Baptist church here in Greenwood, and said they wanted to talk to us about Jesus. I thought Blaine would be all rude and send them packing because he’s sooo, soo just, rude, but he didn’t. As we all talked about our lives growing up, and if we had a church home yet, I told them how I had really been wanting to join their church, as I am Baptist, but that I wanted to settle in first and adjust to living here, and the fact that the van was broke down and I had no way to church Wednesday nights. They asked Blaine to read some Bible verses aloud and asked what he thought they meant. Since he didn’t grow up in church it was kind of difficult for him to say, anyways they talked to us about some other stuff, and prayed with us, and low and behold, Blaine gave his heart to Jesus right there in our garage. I have never been so happy. He was crying, and I was crying, and it was a beautiful thing. I had been praying for a long time that he would make the decision to go to church with me and try to live our lives better, but this was more than I could have ever asked for. After all that we decided to start going to their church, and then the man, Kevin, says he owns an auto parts store here in town, and wanted to fix our van for us. We didn’t even know what to say. My own dad wouldn’t even help us fix it, yet here is a total stranger reaching out to us from his own pocket. He came by Thursday and picked it up, and worked on it all day. He dropped it off and said there were some other things needing to be done, but his mechanic friend, another member of the church, was going to do the labor for free, and Kevin himself was paying for the parts. So in 2 weeks our van will be all good. It’s drivable now, but we don’t have insurance on it just yet. Then on Friday, Kevin came by again, and brought us about 10 bags full of groceries. I just didn’t know what to say. Thank you is not enough. Of course we were going to church today then all of a sudden Thursday I got real sick. That yucky stuff again. Snot, congestion, fever, cough, just yuck. The kids are getting it, and today I got up to get dressed and felt so weak I just stayed home. But by golly Wednesday I am going. Michael called at noon and said he had forgot to get the kids anything, so I got dressed any how and went over there with some stuff I got them, and he hid eggs while I sat with the kids because I didn’t want to be outside much already being sick. They hunted they eggs, had a good time, and I came home. I feel so blessed because we are so broke right now, and it’s going to be about 2 months before we get caught up and that’s only if nothing else goes wrong like me having to go to the dr again because of this crap, or something on the blazer messing up.
Last night Sheryl found a note on the van from Kevin and his wife Tiffany wishing us a happy Easter and saying how happy they were God brought us all together. It just made me feel warm. I can’t wait to have those feelings again of being part of a family, and people actually caring about each other and doing what they can for people in need. I want to be a part of something bigger than myself and my family. I want to be in God’s family. I am just really excited! It’s been since high school since I felt like that. I mean I went to church after that, but never felt right. The church was so big, so uninviting, and no one knew your name. This place is different, I can tell. Well I rambled on long enough, Now it’s picture time. I hope you all were as blessed as we were. Happy Easter!!!!!!!!
